Verbal Face-to-face free essay sample
Telephone conversations are also useful ways to communicate but it is important always to use a combination of methods. For example ââ¬ËSubway ââ¬Ëcan use verbal communication through telephones in order to update each other knowledge about finance such as Profit and loss figures, cash flow information and the costs of running the business. This is an internal source because ââ¬ËSubwayââ¬â¢ would receive its information from within the company rather than receive information outside the company. An advantage of verbal is that staff and customers can communicate effectively. For example if a customerââ¬â¢s calls on a telephone to make an enquiry, the staff can use word of mouth to give out information which will help the customer to understand whatever is been discussed however verbal information is not formal and both staff and customer can forget what was discussed. Written Graphs and charts and all types of visual representation including all forms of numerical representation can be included under this heading. We will write a custom essay sample on Verbal Face-to-face or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Written information may come from a wide variety of sources including newspapers, books, trade journals and government publications. Without this we could never reach the present state of technological development. For example ââ¬ËSubwayââ¬â¢ can use graphs to display their financial standing in terms of whether their making more profit or less profit than their rival companies in 6 months. This is also an internal source because ââ¬ËSubwayââ¬â¢ would receive its written type of information within the company Finance department. An advantage of verbal is that written information is formal and helps to create a good and smart presentation of information however it is time consuming to sit and type information on the computer. On-Screen Information may be produced on-screen. This can be seen in multimedia TV and CD which combines text, graphics, animation, audio and video. For example ââ¬ËSubwayââ¬â¢ can make adverts on TV to advertise their fresh good quality readymade food. This method is expensive but very good for good business that aims to increase their number in customers. This would again internal source because ââ¬ËSubwayââ¬â¢ will get information within ââ¬ËSubwayââ¬â¢ sales department about their sale records of ââ¬ËSubwayââ¬â¢ existing products. An advantage of onscreen information in store is that it helps to minimize queues. For example in Tesco the self-service shows how customers can pay for items bought however the disadvantage is that customers with disabilities cannot access information onscreen. Multimedia Multimedia simply means multiple forms of media combined together. Media can be text graphics, audio, animation, video, data, and so on. An example would be a webpage about ââ¬ËSubwayââ¬â¢ ready-made food which has text about it along with the pictures of different types of food which ââ¬ËSubway ââ¬Ëproduces. This would again go with internal source of information because ââ¬ËSubway would receive its information within ââ¬ËSubwayââ¬â¢ customer service which would give information of what the customers are thinking of ââ¬ËSubwayââ¬â¢ and their existing products. An advantage of multimedia is that it helps to send information quickly. For example ââ¬ËSubwayââ¬â¢ shows their advert on the TV to attract customers however competitive businesses like Asda and Tesco uses multimedia making it difficult for ââ¬ËSubwayââ¬â¢ to attract large customers Web based Web-based information displays many benefits of multimedia technology. Using todayââ¬â¢s fast broadband connections, it is possible to stream stylish content to a computer anywhere in the world. This is an advantage for many people as the information can be received and read wherever and whenever it is suitable for them which can be a crucial factor for a busy executive. A lot of interactive multimedia content is now delivered through the Internet. For example ââ¬ËSubwayââ¬â¢ can use a PowerPoint presentation about their good quality ready-made food and send it to subscribed customers on email which will update their knowledge about ââ¬ËSubwayââ¬â¢ new products and add to that guide them with the right food if the customer has allergies etc. This can be an external source because other business can use ââ¬ËSubwayââ¬â¢ information about their products and improve on it which could make ââ¬ËSubwayââ¬â¢ lose its customers because of their rival organisations excellent market research. An advantage on web based is that it helps the business to store information on their website. Customers get to know more about the business when they visit a business website. Web based information shows them the price of an item online and where to search for items, however frequent system breakdown can be a disadvantage to web based information because when it happens, customers or the business cannot access their website which can lead to decrease in sales. Purposes of information Reliable and valid information is essential to all businesses and organisations because they do not know where they are going and if they get to where they want to be it is more by luck than by good planning. Organisations use information for a variety of purposes and these are as follows: * Updating knowledge * Strategic direction and SWOT analysis * Communicating sales promotions Updating Knowledge It is important that businesses keep up to date with changes within their markets. Information is required so that businesses know: â⬠¢ How their markets are developing How labour markets are changing â⬠¢ What the economy is doing â⬠¢ What new laws are being passed that might affect the way they operate. All of this information helps organisations to make accurate decisions based on full knowledge. Incorrect decisions are likely to be the result of insufficient information. Strategic direction and SWOT analysis Strategic management is the method by which organisations determi ne their purpose, objectives and desired levels of achievement. It helps an organisation decide on actions for achieving these objectives in an appropriate period. It also allows the organisation to make a decision and then evaluate progress and results. Actions can be changed or improved whenever and wherever required. In order to start strategic direction businesses require large amounts of information from both external and internal sources. Once this information is gained a very useful method known as SWOT analysis is used. SWOT means Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and threats. A SWOT analysis can be used as a tool for checking an organisation and its environment. It is the first stage of planning and helps marketers to focus on key problems. Strengths and weaknesses are internal causes. Communicating Sales Promotions Businesses use a different information and methods to communicate sales promotions to customers. They put information about products, services and special offers on their websites and have newspaper and journal adverts and television and radio adverts. Good market research information will offer a notice into the behaviour causes of customers and their buying motivations. Information can therefore help businesses to promote their goods and services and increase their sales.

Free Essays on Interpretive Analysis On ââ¬ÅA Good Man Is Hard To Findââ¬Å
Interpretive Analysis On ââ¬Å"A Good Man Is Hard To Find ââ¬Å"In Flannery Oââ¬â¢Connorââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"A Good Man is Hard to Findâ⬠we get a portrait of a 1950s postwar family who, in the midst of their own naivety, find themselves not only on the road from Atlanta, Georgia to Florida but on the road to the their own demise. The most outstanding character in this story is the grandmother, and since the story is told from the third person omniscient view, it will be easy for us to analyze the grandmotherââ¬â¢s character. She connects the other characters together throughout the story with her own selfishness and stupidity, and through a self-realization which becomes the most important moment in the story. As the story opens, the scene is set in the home of a man named Bailey and his family which consists of his mother (the grandmother), his wife and their two children- June Star and John Wesley. Bailey is planning a trip to Florida, but the grandmother would rather go to Tennessee. We see the first sign of the grandmotherââ¬â¢s selfishness here when she tries to convince her son, Bailey, to take the family to Tennessee. She does her persuasion through a newspaper article which says that a convict called The Misfit has escaped from the Federal Penitentiary in Florida. She says, ââ¬Å"I wouldnââ¬â¢t take my children in any direction with a criminal like that aloose in it. I couldnââ¬â¢t answer to my conscious if I did.â⬠We will see how this statement becomes the epitome of irony in the next few paragraphs. While the family is on the road to from Atlanta to Florida, the scene changes to a filling station and dance hall called The Tower. While the family is eating Red Sammyââ¬â¢s barbecue sandwiches, the grandmother carries on a very foreshadowing conversation with Red Sam. ââ¬Å"These days you donââ¬â¢t know who to trust,â⬠he said. ââ¬Å"Ainââ¬â¢t that the truth?â⬠â⬠¦ ââ¬Å"A good man is hard to find.â⬠If the grandmother knows this and makes these assert... 13 beneficios por entrar al Ejército de Estados Unidos

Government power and individual safety Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Government power and individual safety - Essay Example Any person should expect a semblance of safety also in his/her home and community. This means that the government will have the power to enforce laws and regulations that prevent people from trespassing in and damaging other peopleââ¬â¢s private property, for example. The government uses the police to catch criminals violating individual safety. At the same time, there should be a legislative component that tries suspects of these crimes. For example, if someone kills a person, this act gross violates individual safety. The government must then use its police and court system to ensure that the violated right of safety will be promoted and that justice will be served. The promotion of individual safety, however, should not undermine national safety. National safety refers to overall wellbeing of the people or of a large group of people. For instance, it can refer to protecting the life of a city. Terrorism directly impacts and kills numerous of lives and the government has once pr ioritized the protection of national safety over that of individual safety. Individual safety is important, but when national safety is paramount, the latter can be given emphasis by the government. A society without a governing authority will have no social order, and hence, no enjoyment of social liberties. The government needs power to have the ââ¬Å"authority to set and enforce limits on individual freedom to maintain social orderâ⬠for without social order, individual liberties will be meaningless (Bond and Smith, 2010, 114). Without a governing authority, any person can directly infringe on the personal freedoms of others. Criminals will fear no punishment, since there is no government. Crime rates will soar. People will no longer respect contracts and agreements. There will be no peace and social order. Chaos will reign. It is through a legitimate governing authority that social order will be implemented and individual liberties will have realization. This essay shows t hat the government should have enough power to secure individual safety, but not to the extent of sacrificing national safety, and that a society without a governing authority will have no social order, and hence, no enjoyment of social liberties. The government should promote individual safety and protect the rights of the individual, but national safety often is more important than individual safety. Finally, a legitimate governing authority provides social order will be implemented, where individual liberties will have realization and protection. Political Ideology: Individual and Social Progress or for Power and Influence over Society Political ideology refers to the set of beliefs of ââ¬Å"what the government should doâ⬠(Bessette and Pitney, 2011, 252), as well as to the cultural, economic, social, and political beliefs of the majority of society. It means that it

Security Essentials DB 4.3 Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 250 words
Security Essentials DB 4.3 - Essay Example The world today faces many types of crimes in this age of the computer. The number of hackers driven by the urge to steal and embezzle funds is on the rise. In addition, computer crimes get more sophisticated with hackers working in organized groups to steal credit information, military secrets, funds and information pertaining to personal identity. Due to the prevalence of such crimes, IT security professionals spend much time dealing with the criminal aspects of the legislation than civil issues. Civil laws have limited connection to the security profession. It is because many civil cases concern intellectual property laws, which include trade secrets, trademarks, patents and copyrights. In several instances, these civil laws serve to protect the value of the corporation and other professional may handle them. The aspects governed by the civil laws were vital before the computer age. However, they do not engage security experts intensely in the contemporary issues facing firms today. Therefore, the criminal aspects of the law directly touch on the security profession in the modern word of

determinism Essay -- essays research papers fc
Free Will Imagine if you found yourself in a state of bondage where every action desire and feeling was planned on an inexorable agenda that you could not help but comply with. Although this seems like a dark and fantastical world, if the idea of determinism is fully accepted than it may not be as distant as you might think. The idea of Free Will is one of the most timeless and dubitable philosophical questions and is imposable to disregard. The idea of Free Will has three prevailing schools of thought, consisting of Determinism, (The belief that every action is determined and therefore, not free.), Liberalism (the belief that our actions are not causally determined and therefore, free.)and lastly, Compatibilism (The belief that Determinism is Compatibilism with Free Will.). Each outlook has its points as well as dissentions, but of all the angles, the one I must believe in is Compatibilism and this is why. Although Compatibilism is what I choose to believe, the other arguments are based on pr incipals that cannot be ignored. The first view that I am going to deal with is that of the Determinist, namely the ââ¬Å"Hardâ⬠one. Determinism is the belief that every action is the result of a previous action, and was therefore determined to occur. If all actions are determined by previous actions than no actions can be made freely. Like the cosmological argument, determinism rests on the logical fact that no uncaused event can occur. What separates a DeterministÃÅ" from a compatibilist is the belief that any action that occurs could not of happened in any other way. If this were the case then it would be theoretically possible to predict the future simply by observing the past and present. Because nobody can successfully and consistently predict the future, some people believe that this is an argument against determinism. The determinist easily dismisses this argument with the response that humans donââ¬â¢t have the power to see let alone interpret the myriad of event s that lead to an action. Another common argument is the idea that if you were told what the future had in store for you, you could therefore consciously alter this out come. This argument is smashed with the fact that if you were told the future and you altered it, the future you were told was not the future because what actually occurred was different than what was predicted. Although, the strongest argument... ...cause you ran out of gas, the reason you ran out of gas is because you were driving your car, the reason that you were driving your car was because you had to drive to work, the reason that you had to go to work was because you needed to feed and shelter yourself. As you can see, even the most mundane task of going to the gas station can be linked back to basic human survival. Now imagine that you are at the gas station and you realize that your oil is very low. As a result you go inside and find two brands of oil, neither of which you have seen before. Both brands cost the same, have the same ingredients, have the same general appearance, (ex. color, shape and texture) and are both equally accessible. Even though it was causally determined that you are in the gas station making this decision, the decision itââ¬â¢s self is under no constraint and can go one way as easily as the other and is there fore a free, as well as causally determined decision. Even though the writing of this paper was causally constrained and did not answer a single question, I hope that it helped you as much as it helped my self get a grasp on the most enduring question of all. bibliography: sparknotes

Social and Economic Effects of the Global Flow of Silver
China, Spain, and Europe affected the global flow of silver from the sixteenth century to the early eighteenth century, socially and economically. China affected the global flow of silver socially and economically. (Doc. ââ¬â¢s 1,3,5,7) In Document 1, the author believes that a frugal man with only one bar of silver can pay for his wedding and still have something left over, but an extravagant man can have thousands and still not have enough. The author feels this way because of his bias towards limiting wedding expenses as a county official. From this once could infer, that county officials during this time period did not care much for large, extravagant weddings because they thought them to be a waste of valuable silver. An additional document such as a farmerââ¬â¢s journal containing his views on wedding expenses would help one better understand a common personââ¬â¢s views on the issue. In Document 3, the author is writing a report to the Ming emperor about the lowering grain prices and scarcity of silver coins. Low grain production led to tillers of land receiving lower returns on the their labors, and less land being put into cultivation, thereby disrupting the economic flow of silver for labor or goods. This is important because it shows the dependence Chinaââ¬â¢s economy put on silver. Document 5 describes the change in Chinaââ¬â¢s economy. In the past, customers would trade livestock, food, or other goods in exchange for dyed clothes. In 1610, customers receive a bill which must be paid with silver. The author believes that silver has more value than the goods traded in the past, which is described in the authorââ¬â¢s essay, ââ¬Å"The Changing Times. The author feels this way because of the economy transformation from a barter economy to a money-based economy. In Document 7, the author believes that the 1626 ban of foreign trade should be repealed. The author feels this way because Spain is a foreign trade country that has large amounts of silver and pays elaborately for potte ry works and other goods that come from China. From this one could infer that the author might have been a merchant who wants the ban lifted to acquire wealth in silver from Spain.
